Why we grow it
A packet of dahlia seeds is a little garden mystery: colors and flower forms vary from plant to plant. These seed-grown annuals can bloom in their first season.
Start inside before the last frost or sow outside after it passes. The bouquet in the photo shows named, fully double dahlias; seedlings from this mix may look different.

Will these look like the bouquet photo?
Not necessarily. Seed-grown dahlias vary in color and form, and fewer plants may have fully double blooms.
Can I sow outdoors?
Yes. Direct sow after the last frost once soil reaches 65–70°F.
