Container Garden Seed Bundle: young plant

Why we grow it

A blank garden plan is a lot easier with the seeds already in hand. This kit gathers 35 non-GMO, open-pollinated heirloom varieties, more than 16,000 seeds in all.

Start peas, spinach and radishes in early spring, wait for warm soil before tomatoes and squash, and keep a few greens back for fall.

Good to know

A few practical answers before you plant.

Have more questions? Visit Help or contact us.

How many seeds are in the kit?

The kit holds 35 separate packets with more than 16,000 seeds in total. Seed counts differ by crop, since a packet of corn holds far fewer seeds than a packet of lettuce.

Are these heirloom seeds?

Yes. All 35 varieties are non-GMO, open-pollinated heirlooms, so seed saved from many of them will grow true to type.

Can I plant everything at once?

No, and you will not want to. Cool-season crops like peas, spinach and radishes go in early, while tomatoes, squash and melons need warm soil after your last frost.

How should I store unused packets?

Keep them sealed somewhere cool, dark and dry, away from humidity, and sow them in the season each packet recommends.
